Digital Citizenship

Posted in Principal's Message

Jordan Valley is excited to announce that we are now implementing the Canyons School District’s Digital Citizenship Program. Our coordinator is Deven  Perry and he will be sending out monthly emails to our teachers with supplemental supplies for them to add to their classroom. These will be things like video links, posters and printables. We are excited to implement this program.

Peter Pan

Posted in Principal's Message

I would like to thank all our staff, students, families, and friends for all their hard work in putting on the Jordan Valley Production of Peter Pan.

Our Music Therapist and Director of the performance Sarah Mortnesen worked tirelessly to make it all happen.  We filled our cafeteria for two performances.  Every single one of our students participated in the play.

Once again it was a magical event.

Jordan Valley Winter Parent Teacher Conferences

Posted in Principal's Message

Jordan Valley Parent Teacher Conferences (PTCs) are just around the corner.  The conferences will be held February 28th and March 1st.  This is a Wednesday and Thursday.  We will have an early out day on Thursday March 1st (2:20 PM) followed by no school of Friday the 2nd of March.

PTCs give families a chance to have discussions with the teacher that are different that the discussions at IEP meetings.  The focus of IEP meetings is around the IEP goals. Looking at current progress toward those goals and discussing goals moving forward.

PTCs allow families to discuss more specifically the curriculum and instruction happening in the classroom  This is a chance to discuss what your student is doing in the classroom on a daily basis.  The conversations are more about big picture classroom items and less on specific IEP goal data.

Your classroom teacher will be contacting you soon to set up your PTC meeting.

Thank you for all you do for your students.
