Meeting called to order

Council members in attendance:

            Jana Eliason, parent                            Sabrina Imig, parent                Tiffany Sisneros, parent         

            Nancy Martin, parent                          Zeke Alexander, Teacher        Kelsie Wilson, Teacher                       

            Stacey Nofsinger, Principal                                        

 

Business Items:

 

  1. SCC Roster Updates- The 6 parents who signed up, but have not attended yet have “resigned” from the SCC.
    1. Want to keep meetings blended of in person and online.
  2. School Donations
    1. We received a $5,000 donation from the Wilson Foundation.
      1. Looking to see what we can do with this money. They typically give this donation every December.
    2. Staff Shortage
      1. Parent Volunteers
      2. Substitutes – Been able to cover most absences with the subs we have.  
      3. New candidate interviews – Just hired 2 new Paras. Both are going to Deven’s class
    3. COVID Updates w/ remote learning
      1. 14 staff
      2. 41 students
      3. Dismantled 1 class
      4. Multiple classes with just 1 staff trying to engage students and keep safe
        1. Hard on both students and staff to be broken up and moved around.
        2. Many class sizes were smaller but that wasn’t the case for every class
  • Thank you for being patient to keep everyone safe.
  1. The entire district is going remote Tuesday and that includes us. We will not be back in person until Wednesday.
  2. Not all of the absent kids had COVID, but it’s hard to test the students and 14 teachers were out with positive results.
  1. TSSA & Land Trust Plans -Finishing up the last minute spending.
    1. New plan ideas –
      1. Related service providers: Focus on movement? Fine and gross motor work to help teach the “whole” child.
        1. Rock wall
        2. Instruments
        3. Big mack switches
        4. Adaptive bikes
        5. Additional manual wheelchairs for ambulatory students that need support going long distances
      2. Pool area could be revamped.
  • Bringing peer tutors to JVS
  1. Sidewalk update – FINISHED!!!!!
