Business Items:
- COVID Update
- BJ Weller (Responsive Services Director) & Jennifer Gerrard (District Nurse Specialist)
- 2% or 30 cases discussion
- Test to stay could set up shop at JVS. If you have been exposed, come to work but wear a mask until/if you experience symptoms.
- -Teachers feel like they cannot take days off because of losing their days, getting fired, dangerous situations in the classroom.
- -Intimate environments are the most intense and the therapists around the school don’t spend as much close time with the students as the staff in the classrooms.
- -If we have 6 current cases, BJ Weller and Jen Gerrard will call a meeting with Stacey.
- School Safety Plan
- Update on sidewalks – Safety plan request. Looks significantly better. Omitted necessary ADA ramps, so they are coming back – requested them to come during Parent teacher conference week.
- Any additional needs – Need to redo the parking lot eventually. Will add the sidewalk crossing practice section when they redo the parking lot.
- TSSP & Land Trust Updates
- Ordered the iPads and the Cough Drop subscription so we are pulling it all together. Trying to hire someone to be a support for classrooms and communication systems. Separate from speech therapists.
- Transition rooms are doing well. Adding more to the Voc Ed Lab such as sorting/stocking activities
- New ideas for next year’s plan
- Bringing up ideas for next year into BLT then will bring the ideas here.
- End of year progress on task box data
- Had growth! Data is a little skewed due to additional students at the start of the year that didn’t finish the year in person and vice-versa, but overall there is growth. Still will add to these boxes over time.
- Bylaws
- We handed out new Bylaws.
- Stacey edited the bylaws to try and fit our school but there was some things that had to stay the same.
- We have never had to have an election because we have never had too many people but we set our max number at 20 participants. We would need elections if we had more than 20 people wanting to be a part of this meeting.
- Next year we will hold elections for the 2 chairs.
- Bylaws list what we will talk about each meeting.
- 2% or 30 cases discussion
- BJ Weller (Responsive Services Director) & Jennifer Gerrard (District Nurse Specialist)
Other Input/Questions:
- Heard the communication assistant would be a district job, but it is not. It would be Jordan Valley only.
- It will be a field tech that can also assist with communication devices.
- Future meetings will be the 2nd Friday of the month. If there is a conflict then we will change to the 3rd 3:30-4:30 works best for employees.
