Business Items:

  1. School Safety
  2. Updated Route/Plan
  • We made a few changes to the routes throughout the building in the case we need to evacuate. First drill was completed in around 5 minutes.
  • Working on identifying specific to-dos for classrooms with multiple students in chairs or with limited mobility in case of an earthquake. District plan is not conducive to many of our students physical limitations.
  • For lengthy evacuations, we will be housed inside the LDS church to the north of school
  1. Classroom Shortages
  • As a result of 2 teacher vacancies and 11 para vacancies for 11 classes, the district has been sending district employees to cover any sub jobs not picked up. This has been beneficial most days, but some days we are still short handed.
  • District has also created 4 new positions at JVS – Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
  • Paraeducator positions (limited mobility rooms & non behavior rooms start at $14.06 depending on experience (5 vacancies)
  • Paraprofessional positions (behavior classrooms) start at $16.56 depending on experience (6 vacancies)
  • Talk to your neighbors – we need subs, emergency subs (work only at JVS) and teacher applicants. We’ll take volunteers too!
  • Share the application link everywhere!

  1. TSSP & Land Trust
  • End of year progress with functional communication & transition spaces
  • 60% of students made progress on either their communication or transition goals supported by the AAC products purchased or the instruction provided in the new transition rooms. This wasn’t the 100% we hoped for, but it’s still moving in the right direction. We’ll continue to focus on these areas in addition to the new plans this year.
  • New Plans – See print outs

  1. Cell Tower Funds
  2. Anticipate that in the next month and then we’ll put it to a vote of what to do with it. It’s typically around $300

  1. Schedule for the Year
  2. Is it easier to meet while students are in school? I would suggest Wednesday mornings. Open to other suggestions.
